Battle of Brier Creek
1779 battle of the American Revolutionary War
The Battle of Brier Creek was fought on March 3, 1779, near Brier Creek in eastern Georgia as part of the Southern theater of the American Revolutionary War. A British force of 900 regulars and militia under Lieutenant-colonel Jacques Marcus Prevost defeated an American force of 1,100 regulars and militia under Brigadier General John Ashe and Colonel Samuel Elbert.
