أول مواجهة بين الروم والمسلمين في التاريخ

غَزْوَةُ مُؤْتَة أو سَريّة مُؤْتَة هي غزوة وقعت في بلدة مؤتة في محافظة الكرك في الأردن في جُمادى الأولى من العام الثامن للهجرة بين جيش المسلمين من جهة والروم والغساسنة من جهة أُخرى. تُجمِع العديد من المصادر التاريخية على أن سبب الغزوة هو قتلُ شرحبيل بن عمرو الغساني رسولَ النبيِّ محمَّد الحارثَ بن عُمَير الأزدي الذي كان أرسله برسالة إلى ملك بُصْرى يدعوه فيها إلى الإسلام.
