Carpathian Campaign
Battle in World War I's Eastern Front
The Carpathian Front, also called the Carpathian Winter War of 1915, was a series of operations along the Carpathian Mountains on the Eastern Front fought between the Russian Empire and Austria-Hungary, with support from Germany. The campaign began in late January 1915, after Russian forces repelled an Austro-Hungarian counteroffensive in December 1914.
