1992 crowd crush in Tamil Nadu, India
The Mahamaham stampede was a crowd crush disaster that occurred during the Mahamaham festival on 18 February 1992, around Mahamaham tank located in the town of Kumbakonam in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. An estimated 50 people were killed in the crush that left another 74 injured.
