Das Rufus-River-Massaker, in dem 35 Aborigines vom Stamm der Maraura ermordet wurden, ereignete sich am 26. und 27. August 1841 im sogenannten Island Country, das aus einem Labyrinth von Nebenflüssen und Inseln des Murray Rivers an der Grenze von South Australia und New South Wales besteht.
