Murder of Grace Millane

2018 killing of a British tourist in New Zealand

Grace Emmie Rose Millane was a British tourist who was murdered in Auckland, New Zealand, on 2 December 2018. Millane's body was found in the Waitākere Ranges west of Auckland on 9 December 2018 after a 26-year-old man, Jesse Shane Kempson, was charged on 8 December 2018 with her murder. Kempson's name could not be published in New Zealand until late 2020 due to a New Zealand court order.
