Siege of the Arab–Byzantine wars

The Conquest of Edessa was a military engagement between the Muslim Rashidun army and the Byzantine garrison of Edessa. The Muslims under Iyad ibn Ghanm launched their invasion of Mesopotamia and captured the city of Edessa.
