Drum Creek Treaty

1868 unratified treaty between the United States and Osage

The Drum Creek Treaty was an Osage-United States agreement signed in 1870 that came about from the controversy over the Sturges Treaty of 1868. The Sturges Osage Treaty was a treaty negotiated between the United States and the Osage Nation in 1868. The 1868 treaty was fraught with controversy, and so was never ratified.
