2002 mass shooting in Melbourne, Australia
The Monash University shooting occurred on 21 October 2002, when a 36-year-old international student killed students William Wu and Steven Chan, both 26, and injured five others during a mass shooting at Monash University in Melbourne. The gunman, Huan Yun Xiang, was acquitted of murder charges stemming from the shootings due to mental impairment, and is currently under psychiatric care.
