1324 Golden Horde military campaign
Mongols of the Golden Horde launched a large-scale invasion of the Byzantine-held territories in Thrace in mid-1324. The Mongol armies, which included the commanders Taitah and Toglu Turgan, attacked with alacrity and dealt widespread destruction, killing or capturing many Byzantine citizens.
