Batalla de Bir Hakeim
La batalla de Bir Hakeim tuvo lugar en un oasis situado en medio del desierto de Libia, en el cual antes había existido un fortín otomano. Del 26 de mayo hasta el 11 de junio de 1942, la 1.ª Brigada francesa libre del general Kœnig resistió los ataques de los ejércitos motorizados italiano y alemán del general Rommel.
