התנגשות המטוסים בנמל התעופה לוד התרחשה ב-30 בנובמבר 1970 בשעה 2:53 בלילה. מטוס מטען מדגם בואינג 707 של חברת התעופה TWA בטיסה 691 החל את נסיעת ההמראה שלו בדרכו לציריך ולקנזס סיטי. צוות הטיסה, שקיבל אישור המראה ממגדל הפיקוח, הבחין על המסלול שלפניו במטוס תובלה מסוג בואינג 377 סטרטוקרוזר של חיל האוויר הישראלי שנגרר על ידי טרקטור. טווח הגרירה המתוכנן היה מתחילת מסלול 30 מערבה אל קצהו.
