La seconde guerre anglo-afghane oppose de 1878 à 1880 le Royaume-Uni à l'Afghanistan, nation gouvernée par Shir Ali Khan, fils de l'émir Dost Mohammed Khan de la dynastie Barakzaï. Pour la seconde fois, le Raj britannique envahit l'Afghanistan.
