シャプレー流域

運動で定義された超銀河団で、銀河がすべて、近くで最も質量の大きい銀河の集まりであるシャプレー超銀河団へ流れ込む領域です。かみのけ座銀河団もその中にあります。ラニアケアを囲む五つの流域の一つです。

輪郭は、Dupuy と Courtois (2023) が Cosmicflows-4 の速度場にたどった分水界です。この速度場は約 5 万 6,000 個の銀河の測定距離をもとに、一辺 3,700 万光年のセルの格子上で再構成されたもので、境界はおおよそのものです。距離はこの地図が使う Planck のハッブル定数によるもので、Cosmicflows 自身の値を使うと 1 割小さくなります。糸のような線は同じ速度場の流線で、物質が動いていく道筋です。動く破線は向きを示し、速さは表していません。

The Shapley Supercluster or Shapley Concentration is one of the largest concentrations of galaxies in the observable universe that forms a bound, gravitationally interacting unit, thereby pulling itself together instead of expanding with the universe. It appears as a striking overdensity in the distribution of galaxies in the constellation of Centaurus.
