Antisemitic and far-right attack in Germany

On 9 October 2019, 27-year-old neo-Nazi Stephan Balliet attempted to enter a synagogue in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. After failing to gain entry, Balliet opened fire at two people nearby, killing a woman, before driving to a nearby Turkish kebab shop where he opened fire again and killed a customer of the store.
