ブラーデンスバーグの戦い は、米英戦争の終盤の戦いである。ここでアメリカ軍が敗れたことで、首都ワシントンD.C.はイギリス軍によって占拠され、ホワイトハウスなどの公共建築物が放火された（ワシントン焼き討ち）。
