マダガスカルの戦い
マダガスカルの戦い は、第二次世界大戦中の1942年5月5日から同年11月6日にかけて起きた戦い。イギリス軍がヴィシー・フランス支配下のフランス領マダガスカルに侵攻し、フランス軍を撃破してマダガスカル島を奪取した。イギリス軍とフランス軍の戦闘中に、大日本帝国海軍の特殊潜航艇「甲標的」がディエゴ・スアレス湾内のイギリス海軍艦艇を攻撃した。この戦いは、第二次世界大戦において連合国軍が行った最初の大規模な水陸両用作戦となった。
