1945年、インドネシア独立革命中のイギリス軍とインドネシア軍の戦闘
スラバヤの戦い は、インドネシア独立戦争における主要な戦闘である。オランダ領東インドの植民地支配の再開に反対するインドネシア民族主義運動の正規歩兵および民兵と、イギリス軍およびイギリス領インド軍との間で行われた。戦闘のピークは1945年11月であり、独立戦争において最大規模の単独戦闘となっただけでなく、インドネシアの抵抗の国家的象徴となった。インドネシア人による英雄的な努力と見なされているこの戦いは、インドネシアの独立に対する国内および国際的な支持を喚起するのに役立った。毎年11月10日は英雄の日 として祝われている。
