On April 19, 2026, a mass shooting occurred at a home in the Cedar Grove neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. The perpetrator, 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, killed eight children between the ages of 3 and 11. Seven were his own children, and one was their cousin. His wife, Shaneiqua Pugh, and his ex-wife, Christina Snow, the mother of three of his children, were wounded by gunfire.
