Milan Uprising
The Milan Uprising was an episode of the Italian Risorgimento that took place on 6 February 1853 in Milan. It was the first time socialist ideals were associated with Italian patriotism and nationalism. The event had a broad impact on mainstream liberal public opinion in western Europe, moving support away from the Mazzinian movement and from socialist movements for Italian unification, and reinforcing the leadership…
