The 1887 Cape Cod wildfires were a series of wildfires that burned across Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in May 1887. At least six distinct fires erupted on May 11, driven by abnormally warm and dry conditions. Over the course of three days, more than 75,000 acres burned and thousands of dollars in property damage accrued.
