Terrorist attack in Mumbai in 1993
The 1993 Bombay bombings was a series of 12 terrorist bombings in Bombay, Maharashtra, on 12 March 1993. The single-day attacks resulted in 257 fatalities and 1,400 injuries. The bombings took place in the aftermath of the Bombay riots, which themselves had followed the demolition of the five-century-old Babri Masjid in Ayodhya by a Hindutva mob.
