2025年9月27日，在印度泰米爾納德邦卡魯爾，演員兼政客维杰的政黨泰米爾納德邦勝利盟（TVK）舉辦的政治集會上發生人群踩踏事故。事故導致至少41人死亡，83至124人受傷。踩踏事件發生在卡魯爾-埃羅德（Karur–Erode）高速公路上的維魯斯瓦米普拉姆（Veluswamypuram）地區，大批人聚集在此參加競選集會。當大批群眾試圖見到維杰而湧向舞台路障時，踩踏事故發生；在人群湧動中，數人暈倒，其中包括與家人失散的兒童。由於志工與警察未能及時干預，許多人成為踩踏受害者。
