雷伊泰灣海戰
历史上最大的海战
雷伊泰灣海戰，是第二次世界大战太平洋战争從1944年10月20日至10月26日期間，美國、澳大利亞與日本之間爆發的海戰，戰役地點位於菲律賓雷伊泰島附近。當時日本海軍全力攔阻美軍奪回菲律賓以及保護南洋戰略資源。以兩軍投入戰場的軍艦總噸位而言，雷伊泰灣海戰是歷史上最大的海戰，也是世界上最後一次航母對戰和戰艦海戰。海戰時間自1944年10月20日持續至10月26日的6日之内，日軍與盟軍投入船艦總噸位超過200萬噸，其中盟軍艦隊多達133萬噸，日本海軍達73萬噸。雙方合计21艘航空母艦、21艘戰艦、170艘驅逐艦與近2,000架軍機，總計超過20萬名戰鬥人員參與戰事。
