2014 murder and rape of a five-year-old girl in Mississippi
On July 16, 2014, in Gulfport, Mississippi, five-year-old Janaya Makayia Thompson was abducted outside her apartment by Alberto Julio Garcia, who raped and murdered the girl by hanging her in an abandoned trailer, where her body was found 12 hours after her disappearance. Garcia was arrested and charged with capital murder.
