2022 crime in Sweden
The Skellefteå assault case, also known as the Morö Backe Assault, was a widely publicised case in which a nine-year-old Swedish girl was raped and strangled, leaving her permanently disabled. A 15-year-old Ethiopian boy was convicted on 14 December 2022 and sentenced to involuntary commitment for aggravated child rape and attempted murder.
