The Index rates Green Bay a small river harbour. It lists dry bulk berths, liquid bulk berths, an oil terminal and general cargo berths there. Its entrance channel is at least 6.4 m deep. Ice can restrict the way in. A vessel traffic service watches the approaches.

In 24 hours of AIS recorded Oct 12 – 19, the map heard no ship within 10 km of Green Bay. Small boats need not carry AIS, and the receivers TAKIP draws on may not reach here.
