Israel, oficialmente Estado de Israel, es un estado soberano de Asia occidental ubicado en la región de Oriente Próximo, en el Levante mediterráneo. Limita al norte con el Líbano, al noreste con Siria, al este con Jordania, Cisjordania (Palestina) y el mar Muerto, al oeste con la Franja de Gaza (Palestina), al suroeste con la península del Sinaí (Egipto) y al sur con el golfo de Áqaba, en el mar Rojo.
