Israël, en forme longue l'État d'Israël, également appelé de manière informelle l'État hébreu, est un pays situé sur la côte orientale de la mer Méditerranée au Proche-Orient, en Asie de l'Ouest. Le pays fait géographiquement partie du Levant et borde le Liban, la Syrie, la Jordanie, l'Égypte ainsi que la Palestine, constituée de la Cisjordanie et de la bande de Gaza.
