העלמת חבר במפלגה הקומוניסטית הישראלית על ידי שלטונות המנדט הבריטי
פרשת מותו של סיומה מירוניאנסקי התחוללה ב-1941, ובמהלכה נלקח מזכיר סניף תל אביב של המפלגה הקומוניסטית של פלשתינה (פק"פ), סיומה מירוניאנסקי, למטה משטרת המנדט לצורך חקירה, ומאז נעלמו עקבותיו. על פי החשד הוא הוכה למוות בתחנת המשטרה וגופתו הוסתרה. הדרישה ממשטרת המנדט לחקור את הפרשה נדחתה. ב-1948 החליט היועץ המשפטי לממשלה, יעקב שמשון שפירא, להקים ועדת חקירה בנושא, וזאת בעקבות עדויות חדשות שצצו.
