Bei dem Eisenbahnunfall von Rheinweiler entgleiste der Schnellzug Schweiz-Express von Basel nach Kopenhagen am 21. Juli 1971 um 13:10 Uhr auf der Rheintalbahn vor der Einfahrt in den Bahnhof Rheinweiler. 23 Menschen starben, 121 wurden zum Teil schwer verletzt.
