An diesem Tag verlor der Pilot einer Frachtmaschine des Typs Fairchild Swearingen SA227-AC Metro III der Airtex Aviation, mit der ein Postfrachtflug von Sydney nach Brisbane durchgeführt wurde, wenige Minuten nach dem Start die Kontrolle über die Maschine.
