1418 massacres in Paris, France
In a coup d'état in Paris on the morning of 29 May 1418, the Burgundian party seized control of the king, the infirm Charles VI, from the Armagnacs. An attempt by the Armagnacs to retake the city on 31 May failed. On 12–13 June, a mob attacked the prisons where the Armagnacs and their supporters were held. Between one and two thousand people were killed.
