じょうぎ座銀河団（グレートアトラクター）

天の川銀河の銀河面の向こうに隠れた巨大な銀河団で、グレートアトラクターの中心にあります。グレートアトラクターは、局所銀河群とその周りの銀河が流れ込んでいく質量の集中です。

赤方偏移をもとに、宇宙の膨張によって現在までに運ばれた距離に置いています。周囲の点は 2MASS と SDSS の掃天観測による銀河で、同じ方法で置いています。

The Norma Cluster (ACO 3627 or Abell 3627) is a rich cluster of galaxies located near the center of the Great Attractor; it is about 68 Mpc (222 Mly) distant. Although it is both nearby and bright, it is difficult to observe because it is located in the Zone of Avoidance, a region near the plane of the Milky Way. Consequently, the cluster is severely obscured by interstellar dust at optical wavelengths.
