The internet
Undersea cables
Almost all the traffic between continents runs through cables on the sea floor. Here are their routes and landing points, under everything else on the map.
What you see
- About 700 cable routes, drawn thin and translucent.
- Click a cable for its name, where it lands and a link to TeleGeography’s cable map.
Where the data comes from
- TeleGeographyThe Submarine Cable Map’s routes and landing points.
A snapshot, updated by hand, last in October 2026.
Good to know
- Routes are drawings, not surveyed positions on the sea floor.
- Not live: a cut cable still shows.
