Naval action during the Spanish Civil War
The bombardment of Almería was a naval action which took place on 31 May 1937, during the Spanish Civil War. A heavy cruiser and four destroyers of the Kriegsmarine shelled the city of Almería in retaliation for a Republican air attack on the German cruiser Deutschland.
