Capture of Erzurum (1918)
Ottoman victory in Armenia during WWI
The Capture of Erzurum in 1918 was a military operation during the Caucasus campaign of World War I, in which the Ottoman army, led by Vehip Pasha, reoccupied the strategic fortress city of Erzurum from Armenian forces. Following the collapse of the Russian Caucasian army in 1917, Ottoman forces launched a general offensive to recover lost territories and advance toward the pre-1877 frontier.
