Nazi massacre during the September campaign
The Krasnosielc massacre was a war crime committed by the Germans during the September 1939 campaign. It has sometimes been described as the first mass murder of Jews in Poland during WWII. On the night of 5 September 1939, SS and Wehrmacht soldiers herded a group of about 50 Jews into the synagogue in Krasnosielc, who were then shot dead.
