1994 Kupwara massacre
Kupwara massacre refers to the killing of 27 Kashmiri civilians, including three policemen, by the Indian Army in Kupwara town, Jammu and Kashmir, on 27 January 1994. The incident occurred a day after the local population observed a strike on Republic Day. The massacre is considered one of the darkest days in the history of Kupwara.
