What you see

  • Everything in CelesTrak’s active catalogue, plus the debris from three break-ups: Fengyun-1C, Iridium 33 and Cosmos 2251.
  • Filters for Starlink and other comms satellites, navigation, Earth observation, space stations and telescopes, and military satellites.
  • Click one for its name, mission, orbit, altitude, speed and period, the point directly below it, and its next passes over you.
  • Follow a satellite and the map stays with it. Share the link and whoever opens it follows it too.

Where the data comes from

  • CelesTrakPublished orbital elements for active satellites, bright objects and three debris clouds.

Orbital elements are refreshed from CelesTrak every 2 hours. Positions are worked out in your browser from them, so satellites move smoothly in real time.

Good to know

  • Positions are predicted from orbital elements with the SGP4 model, not observed. They drift for satellites that have manoeuvred since the elements were published.
  • The groups are picked out by satellite name, so they are approximate.
