Starlink satellites, live
Thousands of Starlink satellites now ring the Earth. Switch this layer on and watch their shells sweep around the globe.
What you see
- Every satellite named Starlink, OneWeb or WorldView, on one layer.
- Click one for its name, orbit, altitude, speed and next passes over you.
Where the data comes from
- CelesTrakPublished orbital elements for active satellites, bright objects and three debris clouds.
Orbital elements are refreshed from CelesTrak every 2 hours. Positions are worked out in your browser from them, so satellites move smoothly in real time.
Good to know
- Picked out by name, so the layer also holds OneWeb’s satellites and the WorldView imaging satellites, and misses comms satellites with other names.
- A freshly launched batch flies in a line for a few days, the “Starlink train”. It appears once CelesTrak publishes elements for it.
