Der Berg liegt im Osten der Gemeinde Vlotho im Ortsteil Valdorf und gehört naturräumlich zum Weserbergland bzw. zum Lipper Bergland. Nördlich der Saalegge liegt der fast ebenso hohe Ruschberg.
