The Battle of Letenye took place during the Hungarian War of Independence of 1848-1849 on 17 October 1848 between the Hungarian Revolutionary Army under the command of General Mór Perczel and the Croatian troops under Colonel Lazar Mamula defending the Muraköz/Međimurje region.
