In the air
Private jets, live
Business jets and private aircraft, each on a layer of its own, from the same ADS-B feeds as the airliners.
What you see
- Business jets from light jets to long-range ones, and fast turboprops such as the PC-12 and TBM that fly the same trips.
- Private aircraft: small planes and general aviation, from training flights to touring.
- Click one for its type, registration, altitude, speed and heading, with links to FlightAware and ADS-B Exchange.
Where the data comes from
- OpenSky NetworkPositions from its worldwide network of ADS-B receivers.
- adsb.lol and adsb.fiCommunity ADS-B networks: military aircraft, aircraft types, and the close-up view around you.
- adsbdb, hexdb.io and airplanes.liveRoutes and airframe details, looked up when you open an aircraft.
Zoomed in to a region, aircraft within about 250 nautical miles refresh every 15 seconds. The world view refreshes every few minutes, so a plane there can be a few minutes behind where it really is.
Good to know
- Owners can hide their identity through privacy programmes, so some jets appear without a name or registration.
- Jet or not is decided by aircraft type where it is known, and by speed and altitude where it isn’t, so the split is approximate.
