Hazard airspace (SIGMETs)
The warnings pilots get about dangerous weather: areas of severe turbulence, icing, thunderstorms and volcanic ash, drawn as the shapes forecasters issue.
What you see
- Each active international SIGMET as an outlined area.
- Click one for the hazard, the flight information region, the levels it covers, which way it is moving, whether it is strengthening or weakening, and how long it is valid.
Where the data comes from
- Aviation Weather CenterInternational SIGMETs, as published at aviationweather.gov.
Checked every 5 minutes; expired warnings drop off.
Good to know
- International SIGMETs only. US domestic SIGMETs and AIRMETs are not shown yet.
- For a picture of conditions, not for flight planning.
