Airport weather (METAR)
The latest weather report from each reporting airport, coloured by what it means for flying: clear, marginal, instrument or low instrument conditions.
What you see
- A dot at every reporting station, coloured by flight category: VFR, MVFR, IFR or LIFR. Station names appear from zoom 7.
- Click a station for wind, visibility, ceiling, weather, temperature and dew point, and how many minutes old the report is.
Where the data comes from
- Aviation Weather CenterNOAA’s METAR cache at aviationweather.gov, covering reporting stations worldwide.
Reports are read every 5 minutes. Most airports issue a METAR every hour, and more often when the weather changes.
Good to know
- Small airfields without a weather station don’t appear.
- For a picture of conditions, not for flight planning.
