Back in time
Replay recorded flights and ships
TAKIP records the aircraft and ships it sees. Replay plays them back on the map, so you can go back to a moment and watch it unfold again.
Open the live mapWhat you see
- Aircraft and ships as they were recorded, moving along their tracks.
- A timeline with play, a scrubber and speeds from real time to a year a second. “Go to” takes a date and time.
- Satellites where their orbits put them at that moment.
Where the data comes from
- OpenSky, adsb.lol and adsb.fiAircraft positions, recorded as they arrive.
- aisstream.ioShip positions, recorded as they arrive.
Recording runs around the clock, so a moment can be replayed soon after it happens.
Good to know
- How far back you can go depends on your plan: a day without an account, seven days with a free one.
- Only what TAKIP recorded, with the same gaps in coverage as the live map.
- Satellite positions are worked out backwards from today’s orbits, and grow less accurate over days.
- Zoomed far out, the map asks you to zoom in to see tracks.
